Tabuaeran is a remote location with limited resources. This trip is not for inexperienced anglers or those prioritizing comforts such as AC and cold beer.

Things to Know:

• Our lodge and program accommodate a maximum of six anglers.

• WiFi, power, and water: There is no cellular network, but Starlink wifi is available at the lodge during certain times. All electrical power is solar and can be limited (there is usually power to charge small devices). The lodge supplies treated potable water for drinking. Other water for showers, etc., is from the island’s groundwater supply and is not potable.

• Food: meals use primarily local ingredients such as fish, vegetables, and fruit (supplemented by rice and other staples). Anglers are encouraged to bring their own snacks, energy drinks/bars, etc.

• Flight Schedule Changes and Baggage: Air Kiribati is the sole airline servicing the CXI-TNV route. The current flight schedule operates round-trip flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Air Kiribati flight schedules are subject to change. We work closely with the airline to ensure that anglers experience maximum time on Fanning, but we will not be responsible for changes due to the airline. Air Kiribati’s baggage allowance is one carry-on and one 15 kg checked bag (about 33 lbs.). Excess baggage will incur a fee that is paid at the airport on your departure to/from CXI and TNV.

• Travel and Medical Insurance Required: Medical care is limited on Fanning. In the case of a serious medical emergency, definitive care is a long way away. Fanning Island Outfitters, its agents, and assigns will NOT be held responsible for flight costs and inconveniences.
